About Megrette

Megrette Fletcher M.Ed., R.D., CDE is a registered dietitian, diabetes educator, mindful eating expert and the mother of two daughters.  She is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and received her master’s degree in nutrition education from Framingham State College.  In 2014, Mindful Eating for Kids was created to help parents and caregivers bring the curious, fun, light-hearted spirit of mindful eating to children everywhere. Megrette became interested in applying mindfulness to food and eating after she began a daily meditation practice in 1999.  Realizing the potential value of mindful eating, she teamed up with Fred Burggraf, M.Ed, and an author/publisher and created Discover Mindful Eating.Author Megrette Fletcher The book was published in 2005 and is now in its third reprint.Megrette is the co-founder and has held a number of board positions at The Center for Mindful Eating.  The center is an international non-profit that has brought the ancient wisdom of mindful eating to help address today’s eating concerns.

In 2012, Megrette helped Michelle May, MD create Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat with Diabetes.  This book was the combination of two of Megrette’s passions: Mindful Eating and diabetes care.  Megrette continues to work as a diabetes educator at an area hospital.
