Megrette Fletcher, MEd, RD, CDE (Principle Program Developer & Trainer)
Megrette is a co-founder of The Center for Mindful Eating (TCME.org), and serves as its 2013-2015 President. She is the co-author of Discover Mindful Eating, and Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat with Diabetes, and the author of Discover Mindful Eating for Kids. She works as a diabetes educator in Dover, NH. She has presented numerous training and continuing education programs on mindful eating including the American Association of Diabetes Educators National Conference, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Food and Nutrition Conference and Exhibition, Dietitians of Canada National Conference, many state/local nutrition and diabetes conferences, as well as mindful eating continuing education workshops offered by Skelly Skills.
Claudia Vega, MD, Pediatrician; MSc, Pediatric Nutrition; MSc, Child Psychotherapy (Assistant Trainer/Program Developer)
Claudia resides in Mexico, where she has a private practice and works with overweight and obese children and their families. She is currently developing a research project for the management of overweight children using a Multidisciplinary – Family Based Program for Childhood Obesity, which involves Nutrition Education, Psychotherapy and Mindful Eating. She also serves on the board of the Center for Mindful Eating and is bilingual (English/Spanish).
Sheila is the founder, owner and President of Skelly Skills, an accredited provider of continuing education (CE) for RDs, CDEs and DTRs. Prior to founding Skelly Skills, Sheila was a practicing RD in a variety of healthcare settings in the DC area, including working as a bilingual (English/Spanish) Public Health Nutritionist for Fairfax County. Sheila’s fluency in Spanish and experience working with Hispanics led her to develop many CE and training programs for health professionals, including Connecting Successfully with your Hispanic Clients: Cultural Competence and Basic Spanish Skills for Nutrition Professionals, and La Nutricionista Esta Lista: Spanish for WIC Nutritionists. These CE courses have been used by WIC departments in over 40 states to train WIC nutritionists and Competent Professional Authorities (CPAs).
